Modified uturele clerotomie in par plana vitrectomy

PURPOE: To tudy the effectivene and afety of a modified uturele clerotomy technique in par plana vitrectomy. METHOD: We rotated the cleral tunnel of the original uturele clerotomy technique through 90 degree, thu rendering them parallel to the corneocleral limbu. Thi modified technique wa applied to 25 conecutive eye (25 patient) that had par plana vitrectomy during a 2-month period. REULT: Twenty (80%) of 25 eye (25 patient) did not require uturing of the clerotomy ite aociated with par plana vitrectomy. Eight (11%) of 75 clerotomy ite required uturing to enure watertight cloure. No clinically ignificant complication were encountered. CONCLUION: The modified uturele clerotomy technique wa found to be afe, more convenient, and eaier to perform, epecially in eye with mall interpalpebral pace.
