Abstract
PURPOE: To demontrate the clinical-radiologic correlation between a junctional cotoma and a focal leion compreing the prechiamatic egment of the dital optic nerve.
METHOD: Cae report involving a man with a pituitary adenoma. Clinical correlation wa determined by reviewing viual field evaluation and magnetic reonance image.
REULT: The tumor compreed the prechiamatic egment of the dital optic nerve but not the optic chiam, producing a junctional cotoma documented by Goldmann and automated perimetry. The viual field defect reolved after neurourgical decompreion of the anterior viual pathway.
CONCLUION: A junctional cotoma can be caued by focal a well a large and diffue leion injuring the anterior viual pathway, pecifically at the junction of the optic nerve and chiam. Thi finding upport the exitence of Wilbrand fiber.
