Delayed mutard ga keratopathy: clinical finding and confocal microcopy

PURPOE : To decribe the clinical manifetation and confocal microcopic finding in a patient with delayed mutard ga keratopathy. METHOD: Cae report. A 32-year-old veteran who had participated in the Iran-Iraq conflict wa expoed to mutard ga in 1988. Ocular abnormalitie in 1996 and 1998 and corneal confocal microcopic finding in 1998 are preented. REULT: In 1996, lit-lamp examination dicloed bilateral limbal change with tortuou blood veel and full-thickne corneal alteration. In 1998, the right eye had porcelain-white epicleral change and adjacent peripheral ulcerative keratopathy. Confocal microcopy demontrated irregular-appearing epithelial and baal epithelial cell. The anterior troma wa remarkable for pindle-like keratocyte, diffue fibrillar inhomogeneitie and the preence of highly reflective material. CONCLUION: Mutard ga keratopathy i a uncommon caue of ocular damage, but it may lead to delayed ocular damage.
