Abstract
PURPOE: To compare optic dik ize in eye of ubject claified a normal with the eye of ubject with open-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertenion, or peudoexfoliation yndrome in an older population-baed ample.
METHOD: The Blue Mountain Eye tudy examined 3,654 ubject. Vertical dik diameter wa meaured from tereocopic dik photograph, and we ued pherical equivalent refraction to correct for magnification. Analye ued all eye in a general etimating equation model.
REULT: Mean dik diameter wa 1.556 mm in glaucomatou eye, ignificantly different (P < .05) than normal eye (1.506 mm) and eye with ocular hypertenion (1.494 mm) or peudoexfoliation (1.501 mm).
CONCLUION: Patient with glaucoma have lightly larger optic dik than nonglaucomatou ubject.
