ucceful treatment of evere wrinkled corneal flap after laer in itu keratomileui with deionized water

PURPOE: To invetigate a cae of evere wrinkled corneal flap after laer in itu keratomileui (LAIK) uccefully treated by hydrating the flap with deionized water and applying a bandage contact len. METHOD: A 39-year-old woman preented with corneal flap wrinkle 24 hour after undergoing LAIK in her left eye. Under the operating microcope the flap wa refloated and hydrated with terile deionized water for 2 minute without tretching or ironing the flap. A bandage contact len wa then applied for 24 hour. terile deionized water wa ued topically every 2 hour for 1 day. REULT: Twenty-four hour after treatment with terile deionized water and a bandage contact len, the cornea wa mooth and wrinkle free. CONCLUION: Hydration with deionized water may offer advantage over iotonic olution in treating a wrinkled corneal flap after LAIK.
