Optical cro-ectional obervation of reolved diabetic macular edema aociated with vitreomacular eparation

PURPOE: To decribe the reolution of cytoid macular edema aociated with vitreomacular eparation in a diabetic patient. METHOD: Cae report. A 58-year-old man who had cataract urgery 3 year earlier developed diabetic macular edema after panretinal laer photocoagulation. For a detailed fundu examination, we performed neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) laer capulotomy in the left eye a the initial management. REULT: Two day after the laer capulotomy, fundu biomicrocopy and B-mode ultraonography dicloed a vitreomacular eparation in the left eye that wa not detectable preoperatively. Optical coherence tomography through the macula dicloed a dramatic decreae in the ize of intraretinal cytoid pace with an improvement of viual acuity. canning retinal thickne analyi alo confirmed the decreae of retinal thickne at the macula with the reolution of cytoid macular edema. CONCLUION: Reolution of diabetic macular edema with ubequent viual recovery i potentially aociated with the vitreomacular eparation in a patient after Nd:YAG laer capulotomy.
