Par plana vitrectomy during cataract urgery for prevention of aqueou midirection in high-rik fellow eye

PURPOE: To report the ue of par plana vitrectomy a a prophylactic meaure during cataract urgery for prevention of aqueou midirection in high-rik fellow eye. METHOD: Chart review of two patient with evere aqueou midirection in their firt eye at the time of cataract urgery that only reponded to par plana vitrectomy. REULT: In both patient, cataract extraction with poterior chamber intraocular len implantation wa initially performed after par plana vitrectomy, with the creation of hyaloido-capulo-iridotomy to etablih a communication between the vitreou cavity and the anterior chamber. CONCLUION: Par plana vitrectomy a a prophylactic meaure during cataract urgery may have a beneficial role in fellow eye at high rik for developing aqueou midirection.
