Potoperative endophthalmiti caued by equetered Acinetobacter calcoaceticu

PURPOE: To decribe potoperative endophthalmiti caued by equetered Acinetobacter calcoaceticu. METHOD: Cae report. A 40-year-old woman developed recurrence of inflammation after extracapular cataract extraction with intraocular len (IOL) implantation. At lat recurrence, the capular bag wa tudded with white depoit. Intraocular len wa removed along with capular bag during par plana vitrectomy. REULT: The capular bag, when cultured, grew A calcoaceticu. The media remained clear with no evidence of recurrence of infection over a 3-month follow-up. CONCLUION: Potoperative endophthalmiti imilar to that caued by equetered Propionibacterium acne can be caued by A calcoaceticu.
