Etrogen and viual hallucination in a patient with Charle Bonnet yndrome

PURPOE: To decribe the occurrence of viual hallucination in a patient with Charle Bonnet yndrome aociated with etrogen intake. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: An 84-year-old woman with poor viual acuity econdary to bilateral, nonexudative, age-related macular degeneration had nonthreatening viual hallucination 2 week after tarting oral etrogen for oteoporoi. The etrogen wa topped, and the hallucination ubided. The patient wa given etrogen twice more and each time the hallucination recurred. CONCLUION: We report a cae of Charle Bonnet yndrome aociated with etrogen intake in an 84-year-old woman. Etrogen may have promoted releae phenomena and triggered the hallucinatory epiode in our patient
