Abstract
PURPOE: To document progreive optic nerve cupping and neural rim decreae in a patient with normal intraocular preure and bilateral autoomal dominant optic nerve coloboma.
METHOD: The ophthalmology record, tereocopic fundu photograph, and viual field of a 27-year-old woman with familial (autoomal dominant) optic nerve coloboma were reviewed. The appearance of the optic nerve wa documented over a 13-year period (1985 to 1998).
REULT: Depite repeatedly normal intraocular preure, the patient howed progreive optic nerve cupping and neural rim decreae in both eye. Viual field teting wa available over a 5-year period (1993 to 1998) and wa abnormal, but no progreion wa een.
CONCLUION: Thi cae of progreive cupping and neural rim decreae in a patient with autoomal dominant optic nerve coloboma in both eye may provide inight into the optic nerve cupping aociated with normal tenion glaucoma. Careful follow-up of patient with optic dik coloboma or patient i indicated to detect poible optic nerve change or field lo.
