Monofocal outer retiniti aociated with hand, foot, and mouth dieae caued by coxackieviru

PURPOE: To report ymptom and ign from an otherwie healthy man with photopia and monofocal outer retiniti occurring 3 day after the onet of hand, foot, and mouth dieae. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: Ophthalmic examination revealed a ingle circumcribed area of pigment epithelial mottling in the left eye and a correponding nonarcuate abolute cotoma. Fluorecein angiography demontrated attenuation of the retinal pigment epithelium. erologic tet at 1 month after the onet dicloed erum antibody to enteroviru. CONCLUION: The cloe aociation between the cutaneou eruption and the onet of viual ymptom ugget that the retinal leion wa caued by coxackieviru infection.
