Viual field defect aociated with laer in itu keratomileui

PURPOE: To report a cae of viual field defect aociated with laer in itu keratomileui. METHOD: Cae report. A 28-year-old woman with high myopia (−10D) and a family hitory of normal tenion glaucoma underwent bilateral laer in itu keratomileui keratorefractive urgery. Preoperatively, both eye had normal intraocular preure and viual field. REULT: At the firt potoperative viit 1 day after apparently uncomplicated laer in itu keratomileui, the patient reported a cotoma in the right eye. At 3-month follow-up, viual field revealed the patient had developed a near-uperior altitudinal viual field defect in the right eye. The defect did not progre over 1 year of follow-up examination. CONCLUION: Increaed intraocular preure aociated with the microkeratome vacuum ring ued during laer in itu keratomileui may have precipitated optic nerve head ichemia and viual field defect.
