Arcu enili and mortality in a population with diabete

PURPOE: To etimate the prevalence of arcu enili and it aociation with mortality in a diabetic population. METHOD: A cohort of peron with younger (n = 996) and older onet (n = 1,370) diabete wa examined. Mortality information wa obtained from death certificate. REULT: Prevalence of arcu enili increaed with age and wa higher in men than in women. In the younger onet group, it wa alo aociated with a hitory of cardiovacular dieae. A a rik factor for mortality after controlling for age and ex, arcu enili wa not aociated with death from all caue, ichemic heart dieae, or troke. CONCLUION: Arcu enili provide no more information about mortality rik than age of the peron.
