Choroidal rupture aociated with forcep delivery

PURPOE: To report a cae of choroidal rupture aociated with forcep delivery. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: We examined a 4-year-old boy with a hitory of a retinal car in the right eye. The child wa delivered with forcep and had bitemporal ecchymoe at birth. There wa no other hitory of trauma. Ophthalmocopic examination of the right eye with a viion of counting finger revealed linear car from choroidal rupture in the poterior pole, including one through the macula. Anterior egment examination wa normal. Examination of the left eye wa completely normal. CONCLUION: Ocular trauma aociated with forcep delivery may rarely reult in choroidal rupture, even in the abence of external ign of injury, uch a break in Decemet membrane.
