Epilenticular intraocular len implantation in traumatic cataract with a ruptured poterior capule

PURPOE: To preent a cae of rapidly progreing traumatic cataract caued by poterior capule rupture after nonpenetrating ocular injury, a well a a urgical procedure to afely implant the intraocular len in uch a traumatized eye. METHOD: In a 23-year-old man with traumatic cataract and poterior len capule rupture, a one-piece polymethylmethacrylate IOL wa implanted before cataract extraction into the ciliary ulcu in front of the cataractou len. ubequently, the cataract wa removed by par plana lenectomy. REULT: The urgery and potoperative coure were uneventful. Potoperative viual acuity wa 20/20. CONCLUION: We preent a method of intraocular len implantation in cae of rapidly progreing traumatic cataract caued by poterior capule rupture after a blunt ocular trauma
