Oteogenei in a human hydroxyapatite orbital implant 5.5 year after implantation

PURPOE: We report the hitological finding of a hydroxyapatite orbital implant 5.5 year after implantation. METHOD: The hydroxyapatite orbital implant wa excied from the left orbit of a 17-year-old female, and it wa decalcified and proceed for routine light microcopic evaluation. REULT: The implant howed complete fibrovacularization with nearly complete oteogenei with hematopoiei. CONCLUION: Bone may biointegrate throughout the pore of hydroxyapatite orbital implant.
