Orbital compartment yndrome caued by intraorbital bacitracin ointment after endocopic inu urgery

PURPOE: To preent an unuual cae of orbital compartment yndrome after endocopic inu urgery. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: Acute proptoi, chemoi, decreaed viion, and ophthalmoplegia were found immediately after endocopic inu urgery. Ophthalmologic evaluation howed a tene orbit, and intraocular preure increaed to 54 mm Hg. Treatment wa initiated and the intraocular preure dropped. Computed tomography (CT) revealed the preence of bacitracin ointment in the orbit. CONCLUION: Ophthalmic complication after inu urgery are well identified. Potoperative orbital compartment yndrome may be caued by retrobulbar hemorrhage, edema, air (emphyema), or foreign material. In thi cae, the finding were caued by inadvertent injection of bacitracin ointment into the orbit.
