Trancorneal oxygen therapy for glaucoma aociated with ickle cell hyphema

PURPOE: To tudy three patient with glaucoma caued by ickle cell hyphema who were uccefully treated with trancorneal oxygen therapy. METHOD: Cae report. Three patient with increaed intraocular preure caued by ickle cell hyphema were adminitered trancorneal oxygen therapy uing humidified oxygen at a flow rate that ranged from 1 to 3 l/minute. REULT: All three patient had a dramatic reduction in their intraocular preure within hour of receiving oxygen therapy. No complication were aociated with the oxygen therapy. CONCLUION: Trancorneal oxygen therapy can reduce intraocular preure in patient with glaucoma from ickle cell hyphema. Further tudy i warranted to evaluate thi new therapy.
