Penetrating keratoplaty from a temporal approach

PURPOE: To decribe the technique of penetrating keratoplaty uing a temporal approach. METHOD: Report of two cae of phakic penetrating keratoplaty performed with the urgeon poitioned at the temporal ide of the head. REULT: The temporal approach improved the urgical expoure, which eliminated the need for a bridal uture, facilitated the placement of the firt two cardinal uture, and facilitated ubequent placement of naal uture. CONCLUION: The temporal approach to penetrating keratoplaty may facilitate uture placement, decreae urgical time, and reduce uture-induced atigmatim.
