ytemic amyloidoi preenting a a ma of the conjunctival emilunar fold

PURPOE: To report a cae of ytemic amyloidoi that preented a a ma of the plica emilunari (emilunar fold) of the conjunctiva. METHOD: Cae report. REULT: A healthy 56-year-old man developed a flehy, hemorrhagic leion of the emilunar fold of the left conjunctiva. Exciional biopy revealed an acellular leion of the conjunctival troma that tained poitively for Congo red and howed apple-green birefringence and dichroim with polarization microcopy. The diagnoi wa amyloidoi of the emilunar fold of the conjunctiva. ubequent evaluation dicloed ytemic amyloidoi. The patient remain aymptomatic. CONCLUION: Although conjunctival amyloidoi uually occur a a localized leion without ytemic involvement, it can be the initial ign of ytemic amyloidoi.
