Abstract :
PURPOE: To compare the viual outcome after foveal tranlocation by cleral hortening and that after 360° retinotomy with extraocular mucle urgery in a patient with bilateral myopic neovacular maculopathy.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: A 52-year-old woman with bilateral myopic neovacular maculopathy underwent foveal tranlocation with cleral hortening in the left eye, and viual acuity improved from 20/70 to 20/30. However, choroidal neovacularization recurred, and the final viual acuity wa 20/40 after exciion of the choroidal neovacularization. Foveal tranlocation with 360° retinotomy wa performed on the right eye, and viual acuity improved from 20/150 to 20/30. The critical print ize wa better, and the retinal enitive area wa larger in the right eye.
CONCLUION: The better reading ability hown by foveal tranlocation by a 360° retinotomy compared with cleral hortening may tem from a larger retinal enitive area obtained by thi method.
