Abstract :
PURPOE: To report the clinical and hitological finding of a luxated intraocular len (IOL) in the capular bag.
METHOD: Review of a cae.
REULT: Twenty-three month after a triple procedure of vitrectomy, phacoemulification, and IOL implantation for diabetic vitreou hemorrhage and cataract, the encapulated IOL pontaneouly luxated. canning electron microcopy howed parely ditributed anterior and equatorial zonule, with only a few poterior zonule on the urface of the removed capuular bag.
CONCLUION: The abence of the anterior hyaloid membrane and poterior zonule and contraction of the len capule may caue dialyi of the zonule. Therefore, the anterior hyaloid membrane hould be left in place in patient at low rik for the development of potoperative proliferation to maintain the long-term tability of the IOL.
