Abstract :
PURPOE: To report uveiti econdary to ocular penetration of caterpillar hair (etae). METHOD: Cae report. A documented attack of acute anterior uveiti wa caued by initially overlooked penetration of caterpillar etae. REULT: A 66-year-old man preenting with unilateral hypertenive keratouveiti wa treated with antiherpe implex medication (along with local anti-inflammatory and cycloplegic agent) after anterior chamber paracentei and erologic teting. Laboratory teting wa negative. Reolution occurred after 5 day, and corneal clearing howed a predecemetic caterpillar eta. CONCLUION: Patient hitory taken in an anterior uveiti etting hould include gardening habit and earching for poible expoure to inect or arachnid.
