Abstract
PURPOE: To report a cae of ideroi from a retained intraocular iron foreign body manifeting localized retinal capillary nonperfuion documented by fluorecein angiography.
METHOD: Cae Report. In a 35-year-old man with decreaed viion in the left eye, tudie included fundu photography, fluorecein angiography, viual field teting, and electrophyiology. urgical foreign body extraction and hitopathologic examination were performed.
REULT: Preoperatively, in the left eye, humphrey viual field and electrophyiology teting revealed marked depreion. Fluorecein angiography demontrated naal capillary nonperfuion with occluion of the econd- and third-order arteriole extending along a gradient from the foreign body. Microcopic examination of the len capule confirmed the diagnoi of ideroi econdary to a retained iron foreign body.
CONCLUION: Extenive capillary nonperfuion may be aociated with a retained iron intraocular foreign body, a documented by fluorecein angiography.
