A new urgical technique for the management of orbital fat prolape

PURPOE: To preent a new urgical technique for the management of orbital fat prolape. METHOD: Four eye of three patient (average age ± D: 73.0 ± 6.9 year; range, 69 to 81 year) who preented with orbital fat prolape were treated with conjunctival fixation to the clera approximately 8 to 10 mm poterior to the corneocleral limb in the area of orbital fat prolape with four to even 6.0 Vicryl (polyglactin 910, Johnon & Johnon, New Brunwick, New Jerey) titche. REULT: The treatment with conjunctival fixation to the clera wa ucceful in all four eye, and during a mean follow-up period of 357.5 day (±D: ±189 day; range, 641 to 263 day), there ha been no recurrence of orbital fat prolape. CONCLUION: We uccefully treated orbital fat prolape with conjunctival fixation to the clera, a new urgical approach for thi condition
