Abstract
PURPOE: To characterize the viual reult of vitrectomy for nonclearing vitreou hemorrhage in par planiti.
METHOD: Cae erie.
REULT: All ix eye (100%) had a viual acuity of 20/200 or le preoperatively. Potoperatively, five eye (83%) improved to a final viual acuity of better than 20/30, and one eye improved to 20/100. The poorer viion of the latter patient wa attributed to cytoid macular edema. Potoperative follow-up range wa from 1.3 to 9 year (mean, 4.2 year).
CONCLUION: A ubtantial long-term benefit i een in patient with par planiti treated with vitrectomy for nonclearing vitreou hemorrhage. A larger cae erie will be needed to confirm whether uch excellent outcome can be expected.
