Abstract
PURPOE: To report a cae of Horner’ yndrome and diection of the internal carotid artery after chiropractic manipulation of the neck.
METHOD: Cae report. A 44-year-old woman with no prior ocular or vacular hitory preented with evere right-ided head and neck pain, ptoi, and mioi following chiropractic treatment for a trained right houlder mucle.
REULT: Magnetic reonance angiography of the neck and brain revealed a diection of the right internal carotid artery a well a a uggetion of ubtle diection in the right vertebral artery. No ignificant brain abnormalitie were noted on magnetic reonance imaging. Pharmacological teting wa conitent with preganglionic oculoympathetic damage.
CONCLUION: Acute, painful Horner’ yndrome a a manifetation of vacular diection may be aociated with chiropractic manipulation of the neck
