Abstract
PURPOE: To determine whether potkeratoplaty keratoconu i caued by a recurrence of the hot dieae or tranferred from the donor.
METHOD: Penetrating keratoplaty wa performed on the right eye of a 73-year-old woman with peudophakic bullou keratopathy; her other eye wa normal. After keratoplaty, viual acuity decreaed econdary to the appearance of irregular atigmatim, central corneal thinning, and tromal triae in the graft. A repeat keratoplaty wa performed. Clinical corneal topographic analyi and hitopathologic tudie were performed.
REULT: Clinical finding and hitopathology of the corneal graft were conitent with keratoconu. The econd graft ha remained clear for 2 year without ign of keratoconu.
CONCLUION: Claic keratoconu developed in a corneal graft in a patient without preexiting keratoconu. Thi upport the theory that potkeratoplaty keratoconu may be econdary to tranfer of the dieae from the donor
