Abstract
PURPOE: To decribe a cae of uperior oblique myokymia in which thin-lice magnetic reonance imaging (MRI) appeared to how vacular compreion of the trochlear nerve.
METHOD: A 50-year-old woman preented with epiodic monocular ocillopia. Neuro-ophthalmologic examination howed intermittent intorional microtremor of her right eye, diagnoed a right uperior oblique myokymia. Thin-lice (1.6 mm) MRI, uing poiled gradient recalled acquiition in the teady tate, wa employed to examine the trochlear nerve in it coure through the ambient citern.
REULT: Imaging dicloed a branch of the poterior cerebral artery immediately adjacent to the right trochlear nerve.
CONCLUION: Thee magnetic reonance finding ugget that a caue of uperior oblique myokymia may be vacular compreion of the trunk of the trochlear nerve.
