Abstract :
PURPOE: To report a pigmented conjunctival quamou cell carcinoma that clinically imulated a conjunctival melanoma.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: Ocular examination, urgical exciion, and clinicopathologic correlation.
REULT: A 78-year-old white man developed a lightly pigmented ma at the temporal limbu of hi right eye. The differential diagnoi included pigmented quamou cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. Hitopathologic examination revealed a malignant quamou cell tumor that contained foci of melanin pigment. The final diagnoi wa pigmented conjunctival quamou cell carcinoma.
CONCLUION: Conjunctival quamou cell carcinoma may rarely be pigmented and imulate a conjunctival melanoma.
