Abstract
PURPOE: To preent a cae of bilateral neurotrophic keratopathy with mioi after bilateral Vidian neurectomy for vaomotor rhiniti.
METHOD: Obervational cae report.
REULT: A 68 year-old man preented with irritation and blurred viion in both eye 2 week after bilateral Vidian neurectomy. lit-lamp examination revealed a large epithelial defect, typical of neurotrophic keratopathy, in the inferior two-third of cornea in both eye. Corneal enitivity tet with a Cochet-Bonnet anetheiometer and electrical tudy of the blink reflex indicated bilateral trigeminal dyfunction. Both pupil were miotic, and tet with hydroxyamphetamine 1% and epinephrine 0.1% howed potganglionic ympathetic nerve damage. The corneal epithelial defect healed after 2 month of treatment with ytemic predniolone, vitamin B12 and tarorrhaphy.
CONCLUION: Neurotrophic keratopathy aociated with dry eye yndrome may be a eriou complication of Vidian neurectomy
