Abstract :
PURPOE: To report optical coherence tomography in optic dik pit maculopathy treated with macular cleral buckling procedure.
METHOD: Twenty ix eye (26 patient) with optic dik pit maculopathy were treated with macular buckling procedure and evaluated with optical coherence tomography. In group 1, five eye were evaluated with optical coherence tomography before and after macular buckling procedure. In group 2, 21 eye were evaluated with optical coherence tomography after macular buckling procedure. With optical coherence tomography, cro-ectional, horizontal retinal image were obtained through the fovea and optic dik pit.
REULT: In group 1, four of five eye howed aborption of intraretinal fluid 7 to 9 month after macular buckling procedure. After aborption of fluid, retinal thickne in the foveal center ranged from 128 to 178 μm. In one eye the channel from optic dik to fovea reopened and fluid reappeared. In group 2, 20 of 21 eye howed aborption of intraretinal chii and ubretinal fluid after macular buckling procedure. After aborption of fluid, retinal thickne in the foveal center ranged from 119 to 216 μm.
CONCLUION: In optic dik pit maculopathy, optical coherence tomography enabled morphologic aement of the retina before and after macular buckling procedure. In the uccefully treated cae the permanent cloure of the connection between the optic dik pit and the intraretinal chii wa demontrated. Eventual diappearance of chii and ubretinal fluid wa depicted. It wa alo proved that the thickne of the macula returned to normal and viual acuity improved.
