Congenital intraocular teratoma aociated with eyelid coloboma

PURPOE: To decribe the firt cae of intraocular teratoma aociated with eyelid coloboma and the econd reported cae of intraocular teratoma. DEIGN: Interventional cae report. METHOD: A left intraocular tumor wa urgically reected from a 2-day-old female with an aociated lower eyelid coloboma. REULT: Pathologic evaluation revealed a completely intraocular tumor compriing derivative of all three germ cell layer giving a diagnoi of intraocular teratoma. The eyelid coloboma wa repaired, and a cleral-wrapped hydoxyapatite-integrated orbital implant wa placed. CONCLUION: To our knowledge, thi i the econd reported intance of teratoma originating within the globe and the only reported cae of teratoma aociated with eyelid coloboma. Although exceedingly rare, intraocular teratoma hould be added to the differential diagnoi of congenital intraocular tumor.
