Optical coherence tomography of tractional macular elevation in eye with proliferative diabetic retinopathy

PURPOE: To document the finding of optical coherence tomography in eye with tractional macular elevation aociated with proliferative diabetic retinopathy, paying pecial attention to differentiating between tractional retinal detachment and retinochii. DEIGN: Obervational cae erie. METHOD: We retropectively reviewed image of optical coherence tomography obtained from 17 conecutive eye (17 patient) with proliferative diabetic retinopathy without vitreou opacity and howing tractional macular elevation with or without foveal involvement. REULT: Tractional retinal detachment and retinochii could be differentiated in the cro-ectional image of optical coherence tomography. Retinochii with or without aociated retinal detachment wa oberved in 16 of 17 eye (94%), wherea retinal detachment wa oberved in only ix of 17 eye (35%). Five eye howed both finding of retinal detachment and retinochii. CONCLUION: Optical coherence tomography i ueful for ditinguihing tractional retinochii from retinal detachment in eye with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and macular elevation.
