Abstract :
PURPOE: To report retinal vaculiti in a young, immunocompetent Aian female adult with chickenpox. METHOD: Interventional cae report. A 32-year-old woman had chickenpox 2 week before blurred viion in the left eye. The viual acuity wa 20/20 for the right eye and 30/50 for the left eye. The left eye preented keratic precipitate, moderate (2+) cell in the anterior chamber and numerou cell (3+) in the vitreou. The dik wa normal. Perivenou exudation wa noted mainly in the inferior retina. The heathed retinal veel howed late taining but no remarkable leakage on fluorecein angiography. The right eye wa normal. REULT: After treatment with acyclovir for 10 day, the viual acuity in the left eye improved to 20/20, and the vaculiti reolved. CONCLUION: Retinal vaculiti may preent a a complication of primary varicella infection in an immunocompetent adult.
