Abstract :
PURPOE: We ued canning laer ophthalmocope microperimetry to evaluate the retinal cotoma and the fixation point in the patient with macular dytrophy. METHOD: We tudied 10 eye of five patient with macular dytrophy (three patient with cone dytrophy and two patient with targardt dieae). The mean patient age wa 37 year (range, 13 to 64 year). An etimation of cotoma and fixation point on the retina wa performed uing canning laer ophthalmocope microperimetry. REULT: All 10 eye (100%) had one of two type of dene cotoma: type one wa a dene ring cotoma (five eye, 50%), and type two wa a dene central cotoma (five eye, 50%) that included the center of the fovea. In all eye with a dene ring cotoma, the fixation point were table and did not hift. In all eye with a dene central cotoma, the fixation hifted. The logarithm of minimal angle of reolution of the viual acuity in the eye with the dene central cotoma wa ignificantly wore than that of eye with the dene ring cotoma type (P = .005). CONCLUION: canning laer ophthalmocope microperimetry finding demontrate two type of dene cotoma (dene ring cotoma and dene central cotoma) in the patient with macular dytrophy. The two type of dene cotoma affect the hifting of the fixation point and the tability of fixation and may reult in the difference in viual acuity in the patient with macular dytrophy.
