Abstract :
PURPOE: To decribe a cae of chronic cicatrizing conjunctiviti in a patient with ocular cicatricial pemphigoid and Wegener granulomatoi.
METHOD: Obervational cae report. A retropective tudy.
REULT: An 80-year-old man preented with chronic cicatrizing conjunctiviti, peripheral corneal thinning, and Wegener granulomatoi, which were diagnoed by hi referring phyician baed on clinical (recurrent epitaxi, inu congetion) and hitopathologic feature of naal mucoa (granulomatou inflammation, vaculiti). A conjunctival biopy performed by u dicloed feature of active Wegener granulomatoi and ocular cicatricial pemphigoid, which indicate lack of control of both dieae with methotrexate treatment. The patient died of pulmonary complication from Wegener granulomatoi 1 week after our evaluation.
CONCLUION: Ocular cicatricial pemphigoid and Wegener granulomatoi are both potentially fatal autoimmune dieae. Ocular involvement in Wegener granulomatoi indicate poor control of the underlying ytemic condition and i a marker for active vaculiti, which indicate the need for treatment with cyclophophamide
