Abstract
PURPOE: To decribe a 79-year-old Caucaian male with a hitory of hypotony maculopathy for 7 year after cataract extraction with ubequent recovery of normal intraocular preure and improvement of viual acuity.
METHOD: Interventional cae report. The patient developed an intraocular preure ranging from 0 to 5 mm Hg after cataract urgery. He developed hypotony maculopathy, and the viual acuity declined to 20/200. On evaluation 7 year later, a uperior cyclodialyi cleft wa detected and treated with the argon laer.
REULT: Cloure of the cleft with argon laer wa ucceful. The intraocular preure tabilized at 17 to 20 mm Hg, and the viual acuity improved to 20/30.
CONCLUION: The development of hypotony maculopathy lead to impairment of viual acuity. Thi cae demontrate that viual acuity can improve after reolution of the maculopathy even after everal year of hypotony.
