Bilateral endogenou endophthalmiti caued by hacek microorganim

PURPOE: To report a cae of bilateral endogenou endophthalmiti caued by a HACEK group organim (Actinobacillu actinomycetemcomitan). METHOD: An 85-year-old Caucaian female preented with bilateral light perception viual acuity, anterior chamber cell, hypopyon, poterior ynechiae, and no red reflex. REULT: The patient underwent bilateral vitrectomy, with topical, intravitreal, and ytemic antibiotic. Vitreou culture revealed gram-negative cocco bacilli conitent with Actinobacillu actinomycetemcomitan. At final follow-up, viual acuity wa 20/25 RE and 20/40 LE. CONCLUION: Prompt diagnoi and treatment of HACEK [Hemophilu p. (parainfluenzae, aphrophilu, paraphrophilu), Actinobacillu actinomycetemcomitan, Cardiobacterium homini, Eikenella coroden, and Kingella kingae] group bacterial endophthalmiti can yield good reult.
