Hemiretinal vein occluion aociated with membranou glomerulonephriti

PURPOE: To report a patient in whom the finding of hemiretinal vein occluion led to the diagnoi of membranou glomerulonephriti. DEIGN: Interventional cae report. METHOD: A 44-year-old tenni intructor preented with a 1-week hitory of blurred viion in the left eye. Examination of the left eye demontrated a bet-corrected viual acuity of 20/40 and an inferior hemiretinal vein occluion. REULT: Blood preure wa normal, and the patient wa referred for a medical examination, which revealed membranou glomerulonephriti. The patient wa treated with oral prednione and cycloporine. Four month after preentation, the left eye demontrated reolution of the vacular abnormalitie and had a bet-corrected viual acuity of 20/20. CONCLUION: Retinal vein occluion may be aociated with membranou glomerulonephriti. Treatment of the ytemic dieae may be aociated with regreion of the retinal vacular abnormalitie.
