The effect of internal limiting membrane peeling on chronic recalcitrant peudophakic cytoid macular edema: a report of two cae

PURPOE: To decribe the effect of internal limiting membrane peeling in chronic recalcitrant peudophakic cytoid macular edema. DEIGN: Two interventional cae report. METHOD: Two conecutive patient with chronic peudophakic cytoid macular edema of 11–22 month duration, after uncomplicated cataract urgery, unreponive to previou treatment, were enrolled. The urgical technique conited of par plana vitrectomy and internal limiting membrane peeling. Main outcome meaure included bet-corrected viual acuity, biomicrocopic appearance, and perifoveal leakage on fluorecein angiography. Optical coherence tomography can were performed potoperatively. REULT: Par plana vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling reulted in anatomical, angiographic, and functional improvement in both patient, for total follow-up period of 8 and 11 month, repectively.
