Photodynamic therapy increae the eligibility for feeder veel treatment of choroidal neovacularization caued by age-related macular degeneration

PURPOE: To report angiographic obervation about feeder veel identification after photodynamic therapy in patient with choroidal neovacularization caued by age-related macular degeneration. DEIGN: Cohort tudy. METHOD: We analyzed fluorecein and indocyanine green dynamic angiography in 156 eye of 145 patient before and after photodynamic therapy to identify the feeder veel of the choroidal neovacular membrane. REULT: Before photodynamic therapy one or more feeder veel could be detected in 35 (22.4%) out of 156 eye with choroidal neovacularization. Three month after photodynamic therapy, a feeder veel could be identified in 112 (84.2%) out of 133 eye with peritent choroidal neovacularization. Among thee, 16 eye received direct laer photocoagulation of the feeder veel and did not need any further photodynamic therapy. CONCLUION: Previou photodynamic therapy improve the detection of the feeder veel of the choroidal neovacularization. A equential combined therapy (photodynamic and feeder veel treatment) could be conidered a an alternative to multiple photodynamic treatment
