Abstract :
PURPOE: To report a cae with corneal endotheliiti and idiopathic udden enorineural hearing lo, in which herpe implex viru type 1 DNA wa demontrated in the trabeculum and the aqueou humor by polymerae chain reaction.
DEIGN: Interventional cae report.
METHOD: A 60-year-old man preented with corneal tromal edema in the right eye and udden bilateral enorineural hearing lo. The trabeculum excied during trabeculectomy and the aqueou humor were examined for the preence of herpe implex viru type 1 DNA by polymerae chain reaction.
REULT: Polymerae chain reaction demontrated herpe implex viru type 1 DNA in the aqueou humor and the trabeculum.
CONCLUION: Herpe implex viru type 1 may caue corneal endotheliiti and idiopathic udden enorineural hearing lo imultaneouly.
