Retinal diorder in preeclampia tudied with optical coherence tomography

PURPOE: To report optical coherence tomography (OCT) of retinal diorder in preeclampia. DEIGN: Obervational cae report. METHOD: A 24-year-old woman developed hypertenion (190/100 mm Hg), proteinuria, and generalized edema in the 34th week of pregnancy. oon after undergoing a cearean ection, he noted evere impairment of viion in both eye. REULT: Ten day after delivery, OCT howed a diffue intraretinal edema that wa till preent but in a minor degree 2 month later. Eight month after delivery, macular edema had reolved, but the highly reflective band of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and choriocapillari wa thickened with focal elevation correponding to the Elchnig pot. CONCLUION: In the acute phae of preeclampia, OCT revealed a diffue increae in macular thickne. Two month after delivery, macular edema till exited but in a minor degree. Eight month after the firt examination, OCT depicted retoration of the contour of the fovea. Moreover, OCT howed the characteritic RPE focal elevation and abnormalitie correponding to the Elchnig pot.
