Abstract :
PURPOE: To determine the correlation of a new dik grading ytem, the dik damage likelihood cale (DDL), with the viual field damage in patient with glaucoma.
DEIGN: Obervational cae erie.
METHOD: Chart of 75 patient (150 eye) with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), 41 patient (82 eye) with low-tenion glaucoma (LTG), and 25 patient (50 eye) with peudoexfoliative glaucoma (PXFG) were reviewed retropectively. DDL tage and vertical dik ize were recorded. A maked oberver taged the Humphrey field analyzer (program 24-2) viual field uing the Hodapp-Parrih-Anderon (HPA) viual field taging ytem. Mean deviation (MD) and pattern tandard deviation (PD) value were obtained. The correlation of DDL with the viual field parameter and HPA taging ytem were evaluated. Finding were aeed by the Pearon and pearman correlation coefficient.
REULT: In the 282 eye tudied, the DDL wa trongly correlated with both MD (Pearon r = − 0.695, P < .001) and PD (Pearon r = .703, P < .001). The HPA viual field taging ytem wa alo trongly correlated with the DDL (pearman r = .711, P < .001). Thee relationhip continued to be ignificant when the three diagnotic group (POAG, LTG, PXFG) were evaluated eparately (P < .001) and alo for mall (< 1.5 mm) and average ize (1.5–2.0 mm) dik. Large dik (> 2.0 mm) were not evaluated, becaue there wa an inufficient number of cae.
CONCLUION: DDL, a new ytem for etimating glaucomatou dik damage, trongly correlate with the degree of glaucomatou viual field damage
