Lower eyelid herniation of orbital fat may complicate periocular corticoteroid injection

PURPOE: To report a cae of lower eyelid herniation of orbital fat occurring after periocular corticoteroid injection. DEIGN: Interventional cae report. METHOD: A 44-year-old man with aymmetrical par planiti complicated by right cytoid macular edema wa treated with multiple right orbital floor injection of triamcinolone through the lower eyelid. REULT: Right lower eyelid orbital fat herniation occurred during the coure of the treatment. CONCLUION: A herniation of orbital fat may complicate the injection of corticoteroid through the lower eyelid.
