PURPOE: To ae the viual outcome of inferior limited macular tranlocation in eye elected baed on the ditance from the fovea to the inferior edge of the ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization. DEIGN: Interventional cae erie. METHOD: We performed inferior limited macular tranlocation in 12 conecutive eye (12 patient) with age-related macular degeneration or polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy, in which the choroidal neovacularization did not extend for more than half of one dik diameter inferior to the fovea. REULT: In all eye, the choroidal neovacularization wa moved to an extrafoveal location. In even of the 12 eye, potoperative viion wa 20/40 or better. The viual acuity improved by 2 or more line in 11 eye. CONCLUION: election for inferior limited macular tranlocation on the bai of ditance from the fovea to the inferior edge of the choroidal neovacularization may be aociated with a greater likelihood of viual acuity improvement.
