Abstract :
PURPOE: To invetigate whether optical wavefront aberration vary with tear film break-up.
DEIGN: Obervational cae erie.
METHOD: Higher-order aberration were examined for 20 eye of 20 normal ubject with a Hartmann-hack wavefront enor before and after tear film break-up.
REULT: Higher-order aberration for photopic viion (central 4 mm diameter) after tear film break-up increaed 1.44 fold compared to higher-order aberration before tear film break-up (P = .001, paired t-tet). Higher-order aberration after tear film break-up for cotopic viion (central 6 mm diameter) were alo 1.23 time higher than thoe before break-up (P = .005, paired t-tet).
CONCLUION: Wavefront ening enabled u to evaluate the induced irregular atigmatim caued by tear film break-up quantitatively. Wavefront aberration hould be meaured carefully to avoid the effect of tear film break-up, epecially in wavefront-guided refractive urgery.
