Retinal viualization in an eye with corneal crytal uing indocyanine green videoangiography

PURPOE: To report a patient in whom clear imaging of the retina, impoible with conventional method, wa obtained uing indocyanine green (ICG) videoangiography. DEIGN: Interventional cae report. METHOD: A 31-year-old patient with nephropathic cytinoi and complaint of decreaed viion in the left eye underwent a complete ophthalmologic evaluation, including conventional photography, fluorecein angiography, and ICG videoangiography. REULT: With conventional method (direct and indirect ophthalmocopy, photography, and fluorecein angiography), the view of the left retina wa obcured by denely packed corneal cytine crytal. During ICG angiography, clear imaging of the retina wa obtained with near-infrared illumination. CONCLUION: Indocyanine green videoangiography can be a ueful tool in cae with cytinoi and other corneal opacitie, where viualization and imaging of the retina are important but impoible with conventional method.
