equential multifocal electroretinogram finding in a cae of purtcher-like retinopathy

PURPOE: To report the multifocal electroretinographic finding of a patient with pancreatiti-aociated Purtcher-like retinopathy. DEIGN: Obervational cae report. METHOD: A 20-year-old man with a hitory of alcohol abue and acute pancreatiti underwent multifocal electroretinography (mfERG; 103-caled hexagon, 8-minute recording time) at 1 week, 4 week, and 6 month after the onet of the retinopathy. REULT: At 1 week, the patient had extenive cotton- wool pot in the poterior pole bilaterally, and viual acuity wa ignificantly reduced. Both the A-wave and B-wave of the mfERG were depreed in the correponding area. At 4 week, neither viual acuity nor mfERG howed improvement, although the cotton-wool pot had reolved. Interetingly, at 6 month, viual acuity had improved ignificantly in the left eye, conitent with increaed ratio of mfERG repone for the central area. CONCLUION: There wa no elective reduction of b-wave of the mfERG a anticipated in iolated inner retinal pathology. In thi cae, both the A-wave and B-wave were reduced, uggeting damage to both outer and inner retinal layer
